The iMPS2 Lite is a versatile fax server solution aimed at offloading processing from the iSeries, and in doing so achieving an open, capable system which can live in a modern messaging environment and can utilize virtually unlimited, industrial-strength fax channels.

Designed as a direct replacement to the iMPS1, the iMPS2 Lite replaces the old restrictive fax modem/card technology traditionally used and improve the limited graphical capabilities and connectivity.

Reduce the cost per line of iSeries faxing to a level where users do not have to think about the number of lines they can afford, only what they need.

Combine the power of Fax and Email technology with the ability to upgrade to a full Enterprise Fax Solution when you are ready.

Line-of-Business applications can be easily enabled without any programming, by using the unique non-programming spool file API for the volume sending of transactions via fax or email. Documents can be portrait, landscape or legal size. They can include an electronic form or overlay generated either by iMPS2 Lite itself or from one of the many Forms products available on the market.

Pre-timed transmissions and batching of numbers for out-of-hours sending with automatic dialing, retries and logging are all maintained automatically. Automation of routine faxing of purchase orders and customer statements etc. on a weekly, monthly or on-demand basis.

Message sending and receipt from any terminal or PC connected to your iSeries or SMTP mail server. There is also an in-built text editor with directories and distribution list management for ease of addressing. All current Windows clients supported.

iMPS2 Lite least cost routing capabilities are unrivalled. Users can choose whether messages are transmitted by email rather than fax, enabling huge savings. Whilst faxes can be routed by way of out-of-hours sending from the host and remotely connected iMPS2 Lite dependent upon their destination. For example, faxes for Hong Kong created on a US-based host would be sent locally from the Hong Kong-connected iMPS2 Lite at zero cost.

Users are alerted when incoming messages arrive. Messages can be viewed, printed or converted to other image formats for integration to imaging systems. Automatic inbound routing using DID, DDI, DTMF and the latest ISDN and digital technologies.

The IMPS2 Lite is available with TCP/IP connection, which allows flexibility of location (remote sites, or separate from the iSeries) and increased transfer speed for incoming and outgoing faxes (especially where significant PC/Windows faxing is implemented).

Security and confidentiality are assured by the system's in-built hierarchy of user within department, within division, within company. All dialing, retries, batching and purging are an integral part of the application. Comprehensive Cost Analysis can also be produced across the systems hierarchy.

Automated application faxing can now be expanded to accommodate those customers and vendors who would prefer to receive their purchase orders, invoices, etc. via email rather than fax. Fax/400 can now retrieve email addresses using the same APIs (or exit programs) currently used for retrieving fax numbers. Instead of sending the document via facsimile, you can now decide to send specified documents as PDF or TIFF attachments via email.

iMPS2 Lite is typically supplied with 2 or 4 fax lines, but can be upgraded to handle additional lines if required. Multiple iMPS2 Lite servers can be installed to provide greater FAX volume capability.

It connects to an iSeries host via a network connection and communicates via TCP/IP and runs at speeds of up-to 33.6kbps, provides full landscaping functionality, scale-to-fit Forms Merging, multiple font support and allows uninterrupted processing of fax transmission and receipt even when the iSeries is turned off.

As part of a Least Cost Routing Network it enables you to position your fax gateways where the need is greatest. This enables you to optimize the number of fax lines throughout the network as well as control your costs.

iMPS has Fax Approvals in 30 countries around the world and is fully CE certified. Countries include UK, USA, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Czech Republic, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Denmark, Australia Belgium.

iMPS continues to work even when the iSeries is off. It will allow for 3,500 outbound messages to be stored prior to the iSeries being taken down. All outbound activity and inbound messages are notified to the iSeries when it becomes available. iMPS runs non-stop 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and performs all system purging and saves automatically.
