Q: Do I need to create users?A: No. If you are only going to have one or two people managing Presence Tasks, and they will have equal access to all of the Tasks created, then you do not need to create additional users at all. In such a scenario, all users of the Presence Task Administrator can sign in using the default Admin user account. Q: I set myself up as a Manager, but now I cannot access the Live Tasks Queue to activate my Tasks. Why is this?A: For security reasons, only Administrator level users can access the Live Tasks Queue. This is to ensure a review process takes place prior to Tasks being activated, preventing potentially dangerous Tasks being run. Q: Do I need to create categories?A: No. Once again if you anticipate only having a few Tasks and that they will all be related there is no reason to create separate Categories. You can simply create all new Tasks directly under the root Presence Category or a single category of your choice. Q: If my usage expands, or the Task list becomes unwieldy can I move items between categories later?Yes, absolutely, simply drag and drop Category folders or Task nodes from one Category to another. Q: How do I to connect to my Oracle / SQL Server / Informix database?A: In order to connect to a 3rd party database you must get a JDBC driver from your database vendor, and find the correct syntax for the Connection URL. This will usually be found on your database vendors' web site. Q: I wish to connect to an ODBC database, e.g. MS Access. How do I do this?A: Firstly you need to configure an ODBC Data Source within the Windows control panel. Often this involves installing some Windows client software from your database vendor. For example, to have the Access ODBC driver you need to install MS Office. Within Presence, select the driver class sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver. Use the suggestion for the connection string and replace with the name of your ODBC Data Source.
